Current situation of organic products |
|
In order to consolidate the national production of goods contributing to co-systems improvement, the Colombian government regulated organic production in 1995.
The National Biodiversity Policy was issued in 1997, and The National Plan of the Green Markets (PENMV) for the years 2002-2012 was proposed, with the vision to be the first Latin America producer and trader with 10% of the agricultural area devoted to organic production.
Other programs which stand out are the Bio-commerce program and Bogotá’s Chamber of Commerce “Organics of Colombia” program.
